Elementary Particles (HEP-PH)


We are engaged in the  study of the physics of Elementary Particles, namely,  physics of the Standard Model and beyond. This area of research is usually referred to as Phenomenology of High Energy Physics and has a long tradition in the University of Valencia which hosts the IFIC (Institut de Física Corpuscular) one of the most prestigious institutes in Europe in this area of research.

Lattice QCD (HEP-LATT)


Some of our research projects in the area of Lattice QCD include:

Tuning of the twisted mass Wilson action to maximal twist with four sea quarks (Nf=2+1+1). Production of gauge configurations and fermion Wilson twisted mass propagators at maximal twist with four sea quarks. Determination of the mesonic and baryonic spectrum with Wilson twisted mass fermions with four sea quarks. Determination of the values of CHPT low energy constants. Determination of the non-perturbative renormalization constants of Wilson twisted mass quark bilinears for Nf=2 and  Nf=2+1+1 sea quarks.

Quantum Information (QUANT-PH)


 Quantum information and Applications to physical systems:

Some of our projects in this area include:

Study of open quantum mechanical systems. Application to the search algorithm (both adiabatic and non-adiabatic) and to the quantum walk Numerical simulations of the behaviour of systems with a large number of entangled states. Design of quantum mechanical algorithms applicable to some complex problems like lattice QCD.

We have also several lines open in the field of Astroparticles, namely, applications of Particle Physics to  Astrophysics and Cosmology.

Thus, some of our present projects include:
  • Study of the momentum disstribution of the relic neutrinos.
  • Consequences in astrophysics and cosmology of a neutrino magnetic moment.
